If something is broken, these four things save a round trip:

What Coniuga! is

Coniuga! is conjugation practice built on a verb list in frequency order, so the verbs you meet first are the ones you are most likely to need first. Every form is voiced by a native speaker, so a conjugation is something you learn to hear rather than only to spell.

It runs entirely on your own device, needs no account, and works without an internet connection. More about Coniuga!.

Restoring your purchase

The unlock belongs to the store account that bought it, not to the handset, so it survives a reinstall or a new phone. You never need to pay twice.

On iPhone or iPad

Install Coniuga! again, open it, and choose the option to restore a previous purchase. Be signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with; a different Apple Account cannot see the purchase.

On Android

Install Coniuga! again from Google Play while signed in to the same Google Account you bought it with. Google Play hands the purchase back to the app on its own, usually the moment it opens. If the unlock is still missing, close the app fully and open it again.

If it still has not come back, email us with the date you bought it and which store you bought it from, and we will get it sorted. Please do not buy it a second time to work around it.

Refunds

Apple and Google are the merchant of record for these purchases. They take the money, so they run the refunds, and the route depends on which store you used.

Google Play, within 48 hours

Ask Google directly, through your order history in the Google Play app or at play.google.com. Refunds requested within 48 hours of purchase are approved automatically, and you do not need us at all.

Google Play, after 48 hours

Email us. Once the automatic window has closed, Google routes the decision to the developer, and we can order the refund from the Play Console. Tell us what went wrong and we will not be difficult about it.

App Store

Apple handles every App Store refund itself, and the decision is Apple's rather than ours. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue an App Store refund, and we cannot overturn Apple's answer; Apple does not tell us who asked or what was decided. If Apple turns you down and you think that is wrong, write to us anyway and we will see what we can do.

None of this affects your statutory consumer rights, which sit alongside the stores' own refund policies rather than being replaced by them.

Common questions

Do I need an internet connection?

Not to play. Every question and every recording is inside the app when you install it, so it works the same on a plane as it does at home.

Two things do need a connection. Buying or restoring the unlock needs one, because the store has to check the purchase, and that is Apple's or Google's machinery rather than ours. And if the app ever crashes it sends an anonymous report so the fault can be fixed, which it queues on the device until you next have a signal.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for, no password, and no email address to hand over. The app never asks who you are.

Is it a subscription?

No. One purchase, £6.99 in the UK, and that is the end of it. Nothing recurs, and there is nothing else to buy.

What do I get without paying?

A good deal of it. The free game gives you verb band 1, roughly the hundred most frequent Italian verbs, and the first two of the six worlds.

The £6.99 unlock adds the rest: all 992 verbs and all six worlds. It is a single one-off purchase, not a subscription, and there is nothing else to buy afterwards.

I bought it on Android. Do I get it on iPhone as well?

No, and we are afraid that is not something we can fix. Apple and Google run separate stores and neither can see a purchase made in the other, so an unlock bought on Google Play cannot be restored on an iPhone or the other way round. Because there is no account behind Coniuga!, there is nothing that could carry it across either.

Will my progress move to a new phone?

Not by itself. Progress is stored on the device and never sent anywhere, so there is no copy of it for us to restore. Your phone's own backup may include it, depending on how you have that set up, but that is between you and Apple or Google. Your purchase is a separate matter and does carry across, as long as you use the same store account.

Do I need headphones?

Not strictly, but the audio is the point of the game rather than decoration, so headphones or a quiet room will get you a great deal further than a phone speaker on a bus.

Which verbs and which tenses?

992 verbs, ordered by how common they are in real Italian. Each one is drilled with its full set of voiced forms, and irregular and reflexive verbs sit in the same rotation as the regular ones.

The Italian looks wrong to me

Then we want to hear about it. Send us the word or phrase, what the app said, and what you would expect instead. Corrections that hold up get made.

What data does the app collect about me?

None that identifies you. No account, no advertising identifier, no analytics and no tracking. It sends anonymous crash reports so that faults can be fixed, and nothing else leaves the device. If you would rather it sent nothing at all, the app's settings include a switch that turns crash reporting off. The Coniuga! privacy policy is the full account, including what a crash report contains.

How do I ask for a feature?

The same address. We read everything, we cannot promise to build everything, and we will tell you honestly which of the two is happening.
